Endacopia Endings Explained: Escape, Return and Stay

What do Endacopia's endings mean, and how do A, B and C differ?

ANSWER

Escape and Return are the two Saw Box branches: choose the Toy Saw for Escape or the Real Saw for Return, then give the selected saw to the toilet figure. Stay is the hidden Ending C route: complete the Timesville, Office and Misery Town secrets in one run, finish the later route, stop at the door marked ‘please open’, return to Mellow's room, and win the Clocky rematch before using the new opening. The visible story difference is confirmed by route sources; claims about which ending is ‘true’ or what every surreal character represents remain interpretation.

Check first

  • This is a spoiler page. It explains the three named route endings and the story beats players can actually see; it does not claim to decode every surreal image as official canon.
  • Keep a save before the Saw Box choice for Escape/Return and keep the three Chapter I area secrets for Stay. The backup guide has the file paths and safe-copy rules.
  • The official Steam list names Escape, Return and Stay, but hides some descriptions. Route details below therefore combine the official names with independently published walkthrough evidence.

What to do

  1. Escape — Toy SawBefore the handover in Chapter II, keep a backup. Choose the Toy Saw in Henry's Saw Box, give it to the toilet figure and finish the route. Steam's achievement list calls this ending Escape; the existing A/B guide covers the exact handover sequence.
  2. Return — Real SawRestore a duplicate of the same pre-choice save, choose the Real Saw, give it to the toilet figure and finish the route. Steam calls the result Return. This is a branch choice, not a separate Chapter I secret.
  3. Stay — three secrets firstComplete the hidden Timesville lock, the Office telescope/phone clue and the Misery Town cinema route before those areas close. Keep all three flags in the same playthrough; current player reports say they do not carry into a later run.
  4. Stay — stop at the final doorComplete the area bosses and Chapter II, then stop when the Chapter III epilogue presents the ‘please open’ door. Do not enter it yet; return to Mellow's room instead.
  5. Stay — Clocky rematchFinish the Clocky rematch in Mellow's room. A new opening appears after the rematch; use it to continue Stay. The opening Clocky encounter is separate and does not replace the three area-secret requirements.
  6. Separate canon from readingThe route names and visible triggers are repeatable facts. Interpretations about sacrifice, preservation, the Bride, Surgeon or the ‘true’ ending come from community analysis and should be labeled as readings, not developer-confirmed lore.
YOU'RE DONE WHEN

You can now choose the correct save branch: Toy Saw for Escape, Real Saw for Return, or the three-secret/Clocky route for Stay. The page tells you where the evidence ends instead of presenting a fan interpretation as canon.

STILL STUCK?

Do not enter the ‘please open’ door while trying to unlock Stay, and do not overwrite the only save before the Saw Box. If a new opening does not appear after the Clocky rematch, re-check all three area secrets in the same run. Whether Escape, Return or Stay is the canonical story ending is not established by the checked sources.

HOW WE CHECKED IT

Built from the sources below. We have not run this route ourselves unless the page says so.

The route split is supported by the existing A/B and Ending C guides plus the official 16-achievement list. Public lore write-ups and player discussions explain the visible differences, but the developer has not published a definitive lore glossary. This page separates repeatable route facts from interpretation instead of calling one ending the canonical ending.
